PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Area Sales Manager in Central Romania on a Contracted basis. Reporting to Regional Sales Manager, Black Sea. Founded in 1904, Portwest has become one of the fastest growing workwear companies in the world currently employing over 5,100 staff worldwide. With 1400 styles across more than 20 ranges, we design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities.  

We’re on a mission to become the world’s most requested PPE and Safety Wear Brand.    JOB SUMMARY: As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth in Romania’s market. You will achieve this through the implementation of a coherent sales plan, increasing sales, and broadening Portwest’s market share. Sales growth will be delivered through onboarding new customers, developing existing high-potential customers, and consistently achieving sales KPIs.    

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop an ambitious sales plan to maximize growth in your territory.  
  • Build quality relationships with current customers who are distributors, resellers, and agents.  
  • Conduct daily face-to-face sales calls to customers, including agenda setting, product demonstrations, and post-meeting follow-ups.  
  • Identify customers with high growth potential and devise a customer development plan to maximize sales.  
  • Engage in consistent customer prospecting to onboard new customers.  
  • Develop strong product knowledge and engage in consultative selling by understanding and selling to customer needs.  
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.  
  • Build a strong sales platform and pipeline through achieving sales KPIs such as Customer Nett Gain, Vitality, and Custom Orders on a consistent basis.  
  • Ensure follow-up after each sales meeting to close each sale in a timely manner.  
  • Meet weekly and monthly sales targets in line with manager’s expectations.  
  • Complete daily sales administration including customer visit notes, quotations, and product suggestions.  
  • Attend local and international trade shows, sales conferences, networking events, customer events, etc. 
  • Provide coherent and concise local market analysis and feedback to HQ, including competitor info, pricing info, product info, sales projections, etc.  
  • Embrace a culture of continuous improvement through engaging in ongoing structured training.  
  • Complete other ad hoc duties as . 

  

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Relevant sales experience in the onshore market.  
  • Strong relationship-building skills with distributors, resellers, and agents.  
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and KPIs.  
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.  
  • Ability to conduct face-to-face sales calls and product demonstrations.  
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage sales administration tasks.
