Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will help coordinate and track Transmission, Distribution and Storm job costs and projects.
Location: Remote
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information.
- Maintain and provide monthly updates on WIP Ledger, invoicing, etc. for all business units.
- Provide daily performance metrics.
- Verify that all material, equipment, and tools are being ordered and arriving at the proper job site on schedule and that field paperwork is maintained correctly.
- Maintain issue/impact log for ongoing projects.
- Work with accounts receivable to dispute and provide resolution to billing matters.
- Reconciliation of monthly and quarterly revenue.
- Create and prepare weekly financial statements for operational leaders.
- Develop a crew roster, equipment, and project job list.
- Work with crew to ensure timesheets are completed and submitted weekly to payroll.
- Manage the setup of new jobs and close out of projects in the system.
- Assist with the preparation of special projects or storm work.
- Aid in the Division’s financial forecasting.
- Prepare weekly reports for Management review.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Detailed oriented and analytical.
- Microsoft Project proficiency required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Excel required, advanced Excel skills strongly desired.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills; familiarity with POC accounting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and master new software and programs quickly.
- Dependable, self-starter with a strong work ethic who is able to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in construction, accounting, finance, or similar.
3-5 years of direct experience in the Construction and energy field, managing and coordinating projects.
Powerline construction experience is a huge plus.
Special Requirements:
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time required.
Work variable hours based on customer and company needs.
Be able to provide PM/back-office support during storm events as needed.
