Expedition Expectations 

As a key member of the People Leadership Team, the Compensation Program Manager will be responsible for leading major foundational compensation projects in partnership with teams across the organization. This role will have a significant impact on shaping Direct Travel’s compensation strategy by helping inform strategic decisions which enable us to attract, motivate and retain top talent. 

Passport to Success 

  • Perform compensation analytics and market analysis activities, including participation in and interpretation of salary surveys, competitive analysis, and industry trends. Make data-driven recommendations for program adjustments based on market insights and in consideration of budgetary guidelines. 
  • Lead job evaluation processes to ensure accurate exemption status, job classifications, and appropriate compensation levels. Design and maintain career ladder structure for multiple job families and functions.
  • Design and maintain salary structures, ensuring they are equitable, transparent, and scalable to support organizational growth.
  • Develop communication strategies to educate managers and employees on total reward policies, practices, processes, and programs to promote understanding and transparency.
  • Documents and analyzes compensation policies, monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and makes recommendations consistent with statutory compliance, compensation trends and our total rewards objectives. 
  • Collaborate with HR partners, finance, and business leaders to align total rewards strategies with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Integrate overall performance management into compensation strategies to support employee development, drive a pay-for-performance culture, and align to organizational goals.
  • Stay abreast of compliance requirements for compensation laws and regulations.

Going the Extra Mile 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business or related field experience.
  • Advances analytical and financial modeling skills, with expert proficiency in Excel.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in total rewards/compensation, with a demonstrated track record of success in developing and implementing total rewards programs.
  • Knowledge of compensation theory and practices and experience working with external survey data sources.
  • Solid analytical skills with strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate the meaning of complex data and models effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail while successfully managing multiple high-priority projects, driving initiatives from conception to completion.
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in ADP systems and software is a plus.
  • Must be able to lawfully work in the US or Canada and have unrestricted work authorization for the US or Canada.
