Dribbble

About Us:

Dribbble’s mission is to help professional designers earn a living doing work they take pride in. Every year, more than one hundred million people come to Dribbble to share their work, find inspiration, and get hired by leading brands like Disney, Microsoft, and Amazon.

With most jobs, you have to pick between having a huge impact on the organization (small team) or having a huge impact on the world (big product). At Dribbble, you get to do both as part of a lean, laser-focused team that’s responsible for one of the world’s most popular websites.

We’re a fully remote team. We know firsthand that people can do their best work – and inspire others to do the same – no matter where they’re located as long as they have the freedom to be open, honest, and their authentic selves with each other.

About the role:

As Controller, you’ll play a key role in shaping the direction of our finance department, ensuring that our financial resources align with the company’s goals. In addition to assisting in managing three people, you’ll lead the development and implementation of tools that enable the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions. Your expertise will guide our financial management practices, ensuring they are both effective and adaptable.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you’ll provide crucial financial leadership that supports the company’s growth and long-term success. A key aspect of this role includes taking on a leadership piece where you’ll manage more junior accounting resources, mentoring and guiding them to support our overall objectives. Your role will be essential in offering operational support that not only meets but anticipates the changing needs of the business, helping us thrive in a dynamic market.

As Controller, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Guiding and supporting the finance team to ensure accurate reporting at the holding company level, including consolidation and inter-corporate transactions.
  • Overseeing treasury functions and managing working capital to make the best use of funds and strategically allocate capital.
  • Offering strategic guidance to portfolio companies, helping them align with corporate financial goals and improve their management reporting and KPIs.
  • Preparing and consolidating financial statements for business units, ensuring everything is compliant with regulatory standards and submitted on time.
  • Managing international tax compliance and risk, making sure we’re aligned with corporate strategies and legal requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial laws and standards (IFRS), leading audits and internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
  • Leading the implementation of new procedures and continuously improving current processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

We’re looking for:

  • Strong educational background with extensive finance experience: You have a degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration, along with hands-on experience in accounting and finance. A professional designation (like CPA or CFA) or a relevant master’s degree (such as an MBA) is a big plus. You bring a deep understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, and best practices, with experience in both corporate finance and public practice being highly valued.
  • Expertise in FP&A and financial reporting processes: You have a proven track record of setting up and improving financial planning, analysis, and reporting systems, and you’ve successfully led consolidation efforts in complex organizations.
  • Proficiency in modern accounting and productivity tools: You’re highly comfortable and experienced with widely-used accounting software like QuickBooks and Xero, as well as productivity tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong leadership and management skills: You create a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging learning and growth within your team. You’re skilled at removing obstacles, nurturing talent, and fostering an inclusive, high-performance environment.
  • Dedication to quality and business impact: You manage your time well and prioritize effectively, always making sure your work adds value to stakeholders.
  • Keen numeracy and analytical skills: You love digging into data to uncover trends and opportunities, helping the team make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: You’re great at delivering clear, concise messages, whether in writing or verbally. You can translate complex financial requirements into actionable plans, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  • Success in remote work and team management: You thrive in a remote work environment and have a strong track record of managing and motivating fully distributed teams effectively.

Benefits:

At Dribbble, you’ll join a diverse team dedicated to learning, teaching, and growing; as individuals, as a team, as a business, and as a community. As a workplace, we pride ourselves on doing right by our employees, and have a benefits package that makes being a part of the Dribbble team a dream job and something to be really proud of:

  • 100% remote: so you can work where you feel most comfortable and inspired.

  • Celebrate: we observe both US and Canadian holidays – and a whole week of rest in December.
  • Family leave: Paid time off for when your family grows.
  • Save up: put pre-tax savings into a 401k/RRSP – we’ll match a portion of your contributions.
  • Fitness fund: to help you feel your very best.
