About the role:

Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director dives deep into research and analysis of complex datasets to identify problems and develop strategies that help clients solve problems and improve their company’s performance. As a more senior member of the analyst team, they also play a hand in supporting junior analyst development and leading research discussions and collaboration. A Director is also a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and events to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.

What you will do: 

  • Create high quality, clear, actionable, “must-have research” content
  • Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts and provide clients, including vendors, with actionable insights based on market research and positioning
  • Conduct research and analysis supporting key initiatives
  • Develop and provide expertise to guide clients to the best actions for them and their organizations
  • Apply critical thinking skills to de-construct and frame challenging client questions
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face-to-face interactions
  • Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
  • Provide high quality and timely research content peer review
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation and research efforts to discuss research issues; Collaborate effectively with peers in the research community

What you will need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in business continuity management, ideally with an emphasis on cyber disruption.
  • Additional expertise on third party cyber risk management—including conducting thirds party cyber risk assessments and/or reviewing certifications and attestations.
  • An understanding in how organizations can recover from all disruptions with a special emphasis on cyber disruptions and maintaining business continuity and business recovery after incidents.
  • First-hand experience in developing and implementing business continuity programs and plans, planning or conducting tabletop exercises, and communicating the value of resilience or rapid recovery.
  • Familiarity with key concepts of cyber resilience and frameworks such as NIST RMF, DORA, and NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500.
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
  • Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (where applicable)
