The Director of Strategic Purchasing will lead, manage and oversee strategic purchasing and supplier management processes for the region to achieve company, region and account objectives, including project evaluation, strategy development, supplier evaluation and negotiation of conditions in order to meet quality, cost, performance and supplier diversity objectives. He/she will lead the sourcing and purchasing teams to develop sourcing strategies, supplier communications, requests for proposals (and related verifications), cost analyses, category strategies, analytics procurement market, sales strategies, negotiations (contract conditions, scopes of work, pricing, service levels, etc.), contract development and contract administration. The Director will oversee the Sourcing and Purchasing teams for the region and will be responsible for the effective management, coaching and development of a world-class team of Sourcing and Purchasing Associates. The Director will be a key player and decision maker for procurement and purchasing projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead, develop and/or execute strategy for the direct oversight of procurement and purchasing functions (procurement, contracts, risk management and supplier management).
  • Provide strategic vision for all aspects of sourcing and purchasing, including best practices, innovation and operational performance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for management and recommend strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Effectively develop and lead short-term and long-term sourcing strategies, effectively manage suppliers and internal networks to deliver world-class performance.
  • Responsible for analyzing business intelligence spend to identify sourcing and value creation opportunities.
  • Effectively manage vendor(s) to ensure overall performance expectations are met in the region and for associated accounts.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to contribute to operational cost savings outside of traditional procurement activities.
  • Lead a team of procurement and contract managers to execute annual sourcing strategies and vendor management activities.
  • Establish defined career paths for teams, as well as succession planning and growth concepts.
  • Ensure procurement policies and procedures are properly reflected and applied across the FM portfolio.
  • Personal motivation and ability to assume the role with minimal supervision; take ownership and demonstrate urgency while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Manage the Supplier Performance Management program, including quarterly reviews, dashboard management, contract compliance, issue resolution and service delivery.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Undergraduate degree or MBA in purchasing and/or supply chain management.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in strategic sourcing for facilities, real estate or other similar services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, strong analytical skills, proven ability to lead teams in a decentralized environment.
  • Negotiation experience.
  • Ability to lead all activities related to requests for proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in the English language ( oral and/or written interactions with tenants or external partners based outside of Quebec (for example, service providers, law firms, peers, bankers, brokerage firms, analysis firms credit, credit agencies, non-French-speaking customers, etc.)

The Director, Strategic Sourcing will lead, manage and direct the strategic sourcing and vendor management processes for the region to achieve company, region and account goals, including project assessment, strategy development, supplier evaluation and negotiation of terms to meet quality, cost, performance, and supplier diversity targets.  He/She will lead the Sourcing and Procurement teams to develop sourcing strategies, supplier communications, request for proposals (and related due diligence), cost analytics, category strategies, supply market analysis, deal strategy, pricing strategy, deal negotiations (contract terms and conditions, scopes of work, pricing, service levels, etc.), contract development, and contract administration. The Director will oversee the Sourcing and Procurement teams for the region, and will be accountable for effectively managing, mentoring and developing a team of world-class Sourcing and Procurement associates. The Director will be a key stakeholder and decision-maker for Sourcing and Procurement projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to contribute to operational cost savings outside of traditional sourcing activities.
  • Lead a team of sourcing and contract managers to execute annual sourcing strategies and supplier management activities.
  • Establish defined Career Paths for teams, and succession and growth planning concepts.
  • Ensure procurement policies and procedures are accurately reflected and executed throughout the FM portfolio.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform the role with minimal supervision; takes ownership and demonstrates sense of urgency while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Run the supplier performance management program including Quarterly Business Reviews, scorecard management, contract compliance, issue resolution and service delivery

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree or MBA with Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ strategic sourcing experience for facilities, Real Estate or other similar services
  • Excellent Inter-personal skills, Organization skills, Strong Analytical Ability, Proven ability to lead teams in decentralized environment.
  • Experience in negotiations
