They are looking for an entrepreneurial and experienced Executive Producer to own the creative vision, monetization strategy, and long-term success of this groundbreaking title. This is an opportunity to pioneer the fusion of digital and physical card collecting, turning digital engagement into real-world purchases and redemptions while crafting a best-in-class mobile TCG experience.

About the Role

The Executive Producer will be responsible for the overall creative direction, financial success, and live operations strategy of the game. You will own the product vision and drive the transformation of digital engagement into real-world collector behavior, ensuring that players are motivated to acquire, redeem, and chase physical goods through digital play.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of designers and developers, ensuring that the game’s collecting, gameplay, and progression mechanics reinforce the pursuit of both digital and physical card ownership. Your success will be measured by your ability to create a deeply engaging free-to-play experience that seamlessly integrates with physical card collecting, trading, and purchasing.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in startup environments, ideally as a co-founder or founding team member who has taken a game from concept to market. You must have proven success in launching and managing freemium mobile games, with a strong understanding of TCG design, monetization, live services, and competitive gameplay balance.

Key Responsibilities

Creative & Product Ownership

?Own the creative vision for the digital game, ensuring it delivers a compelling collecting and

gameplay experience that seamlessly connects to physical TCG collecting and redemption.

? Define the core gameplay mechanics, card acquisition systems, and event-driven engagement

loops to maximize player enjoyment and retention.

? Get in the trenches and roll up your sleeves for collaboration with designers to develop an

engaging, intuitive, and visually stunning experience.

? Ensure that the game’s progression system, card rarities, and collection milestones reinforce the

excitement of both digital and physical card collecting.

Freemium Monetization & Conversion to Physical Goods

? Develop and optimize a robust monetization model, including card pack purchases, premium

currency, season passes, and marketplace mechanics.

? Create gameplay-driven incentives that encourage free-to-play users to convert into paying

customers while maintaining fair, sustainable monetization.

? Drive seamless integration between digital play and physical card acquisition, designing

redemption mechanics and exclusive digital-to-physical incentives.

? Develop partnership strategies with the physical TCG team and retail distribution partners to

ensure a unified commerce experience between digital and physical play.

 

Live Operations & Player Retention

? Develop and execute a comprehensive live service roadmap, including seasonal events,

competitive tournaments, and in-game promotions to maintain player engagement.

? Leverage data-driven insights to fine-tune event pacing, player rewards, and conversion

incentives.

? Create community engagement initiatives that turn casual players into lifelong collectors and

competitive TCG participants.

? Work closely with customer support and community management to ensure player feedback

informs ongoing game updates and improvements.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Collaboration

? Act as the primary bridge between the physical TCG team and digital development team,

ensuring a consistent and authentic card game experience across platforms.

? Partner with the team to implement digital platform features, including collection tracking,

tournament software, and companion app functionalities.

? Serve as the primary point of contact for the Bo Jackson Battle Arena team, our company, externaldevelopment partners, and strategic stakeholders.

Project & Studio Management

? Build and lead a high-performing team of developers, designers, and player support techs.

? Oversee development timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality standards.

? Identify risks, propose solutions, and ensure all technical and design challenges are addressed

proactively.

? Implement agile development methodologies to optimize workflow efficiency and adaptability.

Requirements

? 10+ years of experience in game development, with at least 4 years in digital card games, TCGs,

or mobile free-to-play games.

? Entrepreneurial experience as a co-founder, startup leader, or key early-stage contributor in a

game studio.

? Proven success in designing, launching, and operating freemium mobile games, particularly in

TCGs or collectible-driven experiences.

? Direct experience working on digital TCGs or collectible games (e.g., Pokemon TCG Pocket,

Magic: The Gathering Arena, Marvel Snap, or similar).

? Strong understanding of TCG mechanics, rarity systems, card acquisition psychology, and metagame

design.

? Expertise in freemium monetization, with a track record of driving strong conversion rates and

maximizing ARPU.

? Experience designing digital-to-physical conversion mechanics, such as redemptions, digital

exclusives, or companion app integrations.

? Strong technical knowledge of mobile game development and platform requirements

(iOS/Android).

? Proven leadership in live operations, with experience balancing player engagement,

monetization, and game economy health.

? Passion for sports, trading card games, and digital entertainment.

Preferred Qualifications

? Experience in adapting physical card games into digital formats.

? Deep knowledge of sports gaming, sports trading cards, and sports entertainment markets.

? Experience leading a startup team through a game launch, fundraising, or exit strategy.

? Familiarity with blockchain, NFT, or digital collectibles markets (a plus, but not required).
