Job Description:

We are looking for a Lead AI/ML Scientist who loves to solve complex problems and has extensive experience creating, optimizing, and deploying Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions, with demonstrable contributions to products built using LLMs, Generative AI, Semantic Search, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).

We are looking for a talented AI/ML Scientist to join our team to build ML and NLP based solutions to deliver intelligent features into our products. As a Lead AI/ML Scientist, you will help develop and apply innovative solutions to make traditionally slow, rote, and ultra-high stakes workflows efficient, while maintaining and instilling customer trust. You will provide leadership in the research, development, and deployment of AI technologies that are central to building a deep moat for an indelible brand in M&A. You will build technology that the smartest minds in finance will rely upon every day. Your work will be highly visible to the executive team and will inform the strategic direction of the company.

In this role, you will:

  • Apply industry-leading standards to AI solutions tailored to our sophisticated, high-stakes customer base.
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership for solutions leveraging LLMs, Generative AI, Semantic Search, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Work closely with Product Management to inform and guide the AI strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and orchestrate the delivery of a technical roadmap for building LLM and Modern Search powered solutions that make document review, document organization, and Q&A processes more efficient.
  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists.
  • Partner with Product Leadership to inform and guide the AI R&D strategy.
  • Develop new AI models and algorithms that power foundational products within Datasite.
  • Optimize existing AI models.
  • Establish benchmarks and metrics for model performance, ensuring solutions meet high standards of accuracy and reliability tailored to customer requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI advancements, applying the latest research findings to continuous improvement of AI solutions and advocating for best practices in AI application.

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and growing AI teams, with a history of developing AI projects from conception to implementation, particularly in sophisticated and regulated environments.
  • Proven leadership skills: mentoring, guiding teams through the adoption of novel solutions and new technology, bar-raising, and motivating colleagues to innovate.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions that enhance product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Natural inclination to seek understanding of customers, consider business context, and learn from shipping code.
  • Expert in Python Deep Learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch).
  • Expert in AI/ML applications on large scale unstructured text data using Deep Learning, Transformers, and LLMs.
  • Experience implementing AI workflows on Azure or other major cloud platforms.

Minimum Education:

  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years hands on experience building AI solutions in a progressively senior or lead role.
  • 3+ years managing a team of Data Scientists.
  • 2+ years building solutions with a Semantic Search component.
  • Experience building RAG-based solutions.

  • Ability to work both independently and in conjunction with teams and product groups.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact with internal/external clients/customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to rapidly acquire new domain knowledge.
