We are looking for a dynamic and highly organized Marketing Operations and Event Manager to join our team. This role combines the art of marketing strategy with the science of systems and processes, ensuring our marketing efforts are efficiently executed and measured. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the marketing department, including planning, executing, and optimizing marketing campaigns, as well as managing all developer events such as meetups, hackathons etc. This role demands a blend of marketing expertise, project management skills, and a knack for data analysis to drive performance and achieve company objectives.

Responsibilities

Marketing Operations:

  • Develop and implement efficient processes and systems for campaign management, event management, CRM, and analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members to plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, email, social media, etc.), ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Manage marketing budgets and expenditures, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI.
  • Coordinate with finance and procurement teams to manage contracts and SOW’s for contract workers and design agencies.
  • Analyze marketing data, providing actionable insights to improve campaign effectiveness, optimize spend, and drive marketing strategies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the marketing technology landscape, recommending new tools and technologies to improve department efficiency and campaign performance.

Event Management

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing events, including trade shows, conferences, meetups, hackathons, webinars, and other developer focussed activities.
  • Develop event concepts and themes that align with marketing strategies and company branding.
  • Negotiate contracts with venues, vendors, and contractors to ensure high-quality services while managing costs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure all aspects of events are delivered to the highest standards, including logistics, branding, content, and attendee experience.
  • Evaluate event success using predefined KPIs, gathering feedback to inform future event strategies and improve ROI.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 

  • Work closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to ensure marketing operations and events support overall business objectives and drive leads, customer engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding marketing operations and event inquiries.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the marketing team and other departments to ensure campaigns and events are aligned with broader company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven job related experience (2+ years minimum) in marketing operations, event management, or a similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience in marketing metrics and KPIs, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and achieving objectives.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for events and other marketing activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Marketing (e.g., Digital Marketing Certification).
  • Experience in a similar role within the industry relevant to the hiring company.
  • Strong network of contacts in the events industry, including vendors, venues, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in specific marketing technologies relevant to the role (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics).

The salary range for this role is specific to candidates located within the U.S. and will vary for candidates outside the U.S..
