Description Engages in business development strategies and programs in support of Oracle’s Sales Organization. Oversees the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments. Engages in many areas of business development to include strategy, programs, demand generation, building pipeline, increasing deal size, and account planning. Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities and develops strategic direction from market information. Identifies volume and strategic customers. Primary interaction is with Oracle sales force; however, may interact with external customers as it relates to the development and facilitation of ongoing business and/or business relationship. Supports the business by interfacing with the sales organization and other internal groups (such as Product Development, Operations, GBUs, Marketing, etc.) Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8-12 years of Marketing/Business Development experience in the technology industry, preferably software industry. Experience should include relationship management. Conversant in Oracle technology and product strategies. Ability to determine strategy and tactical plans that deliver tangible results. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable. It’s an exciting time to join the North America Application (NAA) Business Development organization. As part of the Sales Excellence team, you’ll manage organizational, cross-team projects that drive new business and “go-to-market” plans to ensure that our sellers deliver measurable and significant revenues. You’ll create a project management structure that takes into account work across operations, analytics, sales methodology, and enablement. You’ll work with all levels in the company and should be comfortable presenting and orchestrating information at an executive level.
Objectives:
- Create a project management structure that can systematically be applied across different NAA projects
- Engage and manage project stakeholders to drive specific executables and outcomes
- Provide clear guidance and documentation for work streams and responsibilities for projects executables
- Manage a comprehensive calendar of project components and target deliverable dates
- Create a reporting structure for key stakeholders on project progress and outcomes
- Surface improvements to drive faster outcomes and signal roadblock that could derail project outcomes
Requirements
- 10+ years in a business development, marketing or sales operations role
- Ability to communicate and work across matrixed teams toward specific business objectives.
- Previous staff management for more than 5 years
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Exceptional project management skills
- Clear presentation skills and comfort with executive engagement
- Experience managing to metrics and timelines
- Knowledge of how project exceptions and business process changes materially impact business outcomes
- Knowledge of project management platforms such as Confluence, Wrike, or Microsoft Projects
- PMP Certification preferred
