Job Description

Responsible for overseeing the impact of projects and initiatives on operational systems. This person will act as the primary point of contact for resolving obstacles, collating / approving project artefacts, answering questions and where appropriate, suggesting appropriate solutions to ensure the continuation of smooth operations. This role is crucial for maintaining a swift pace and efficiently delivering on strategic changes.

Directly accountable for

  • Serve as the Operations Subject Matter Expert, offering guidance on Operational Systems & policies for all new projects, to ensure operational change impacting Payment Ops and Treasury Ops is delivered efficiently.
  • Understand and own stakeholder communication per project, articulate operational principles / standards to be met.
  • Drive completion of operational artefacts, such as Treasury ledger mapping, collaborating with operations managers to overcome project challenges.
  • Develop and implement new operational procedures and practices in line with organisational goals.
  • Drive completion of cash workflow and cut off time mapping to ensure that regulatory requirements are met before the project is live.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure the requirements for all new projects are met.
  • Act as SME for payments and collections products including understanding of local payment rails (SEPA, FPS, ACH) and SWIFT.
  • Identifying, communicating, and logging risks, accordingly, developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with operations managers.
  • Continuously develop/enhance understanding of payment, settlement, trading processes and system workflows, making sure adequate documentation is in place and maintained.

  • Knowledge of Operational systems, regulatory and Safeguarding requirements.
  • Standards for operational processes and requirements.
  • Operational flows and templates for projects which can be repurposed.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.


Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Batchelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations within financial services, preferably with focus on payment systems, collections, safeguarding and/or FX transactions. Previous experience in PSP or banking.
  • Experienced working with project / agile delivery teams and cross functional ways of working, including tech integrations.
  • Demonstrate analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to stay focused under time pressures.
  • Hands on and independent, ability to identify operational incidents/issues.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent team working skills, ability to manage own workload and tenacious attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Ability to manage and switch between multiple initiatives.
  • Experience in analyzing complex data sets to inform decision making.
