The Tergar Meditation Community supports individuals, practice groups, and meditation communities around the world in learning to live with awareness, compassion, and wisdom. Grounded in the Tibetan Buddhist lineage of our guiding teacher, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, our online and in-person programs are accessible to people of all cultures and faiths and support a lifelong path toward the application of these principles in everyday life.
Tergar International is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that develops and delivers Tergar programs in partnership with our sister organization, Tergar Asia. Tergar International is based in the United States of America in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minnesota, with a staff of 72 employees and core contractors who work in various locations around the world.
Job Summary: The Project Manager will support the Data Team Lead in managing project timelines, deliverables, and milestones across the Data project at Tergar. This role will handle coordinating meetings, maintaining project documentation, and optimizing the use of tools like Asana and Google Workspace. The Project Manager will ensure timely project progress, track performance metrics, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts while maintaining high standards in project execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Set up and manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones in Asana, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet deadlines. Monitor project progress and provide status updates to the Data Team Lead, highlighting any potential risks or delays.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and facilitate recurring product and project-related meetings, ensuring agendas are clear and action items are captured and tracked to completion.
- Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintain and organize project documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date and easily accessible. Regularly update project status reports and keep project portfolios current with accurate and timely information.
- Tool Optimization: Support team members in fully adopting and effectively using Asana for day-to-day task management, offering guidance as needed. Design and implement customized forms, templates, and workflows using Asana, Google Workspace, and Jira to improve team efficiency and streamline processes.
- Data Management: Assist the Data Team lead in handling data entry and management requirements for Community and Training projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives by identifying bottlenecks and offering solutions that enhance productivity and quality.
- Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for projects, providing data and insights to the Data Team lead to evaluate progress and outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet organizational standards and align with project goals.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; project management training is a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of project management experience
- Skills & Proficiencies:
- Proficiency in Asana (or a similar project management tool), Google Workspace, and collaboration tools like Zoom and Slack is essential.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Collaborative and proactive problem-solver.
- Experience in Scrum or other Agile methodologies a huge plus

- Organized but also flexible: able to go with the flow in a rapidly growing organization
- Strong desire to learn and grow in project management skills and practices.
- Interest in mindfulness or meditation, aligning with the organizational mission; large plus to those familiar with Tergar and Mingyur Rinpoche
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills.
This is a contracted role for one year from start date working 20hr/week.
