Context:The IRONMAN Group operates a global portfolio of events and brands across four sport verticals that are Triathlon (IRONMAN Series), Trail Running (UTMB World Series), Road Running (Rock’n’Roll Running Series), and Mountain Bike (Epic Series). Each vertical is at a different stage of development and presents various types of growth opportunities. The IRONMAN Group is hiring a Regional Marketing Manager to drive marketing success for the IRONMAN Series within the North America – Midwest Portfolio.Position Summary:The Event Marketing Team is tasked with generating and converting demand for IRONMAN & IRONMAN 70.3 events along with affiliated brands and products, creating value for customers, and driving profitable growth strategies for the business. The Regional Marketing Manager position will be responsible for designing strategic event marketing programs that deliver participants against budgeted athlete targets. This position will require a self-motivated team player with strong project management skills, multichannel sales and promotion experience, creative problem-solving, a data-first approach, and ability to nuture and develop key relationships with athletes, clubs, partners, and other key stakeholders. Responsibilities:Spearhead comprehensive regional marketing plans and manage implementation with event managers and regional leadership with the goal of driving athlete registrations.
- Develop & Execute Marketing Plans: Lead all aspects of developing and executing multi-channel marketing plans across the Midwest region, incorporating series-wide brand offerings and messages
- Metrics & Reporting: Develop, monitor, and report on event & region-specific KPIs to utilize the data in crafting strategic marketing plans and drive them to execution.
- Community Development: Build and nurture in-market relationships with team, clubs, and city partners to build brand awareness, community engagement, and drive registrations through local community grassroots events and outreach.
- Multi-Channel Sales: Create multi-channel communication plans and work closely with email, social, and paid media teams to successfully meet registration and revenue targets.
- Data-Focused Execution: Analyze athlete registration trends and behaviors to develop targeted campaigns to accelerate sales velocities and manage athlete groups.
- Budget Management: Manage and track annual budget for regional events, analyzing channel-specific results to drive successful ROI against the marketing plan.
- Cross-Functional Approach: Work closely with functional leads within Channel Marketing, Event Operations, Athlete Services, Athlete Development, Global Brand & Creative, and Global Partnerships to:
- Monitor current and historical deployment of marketing channels such as email, print, out of home, digital and grassroots marketing to identify trends and synthesize new ideas into marketing plans and event executions.
- Take ownership of marketing objectives and make recommendations on the allocation of budgets and activities to meet registration and athlete satisfaction goals.
- Develop a keen understanding of regional and local markets, using firsthand observation, quantitative and qualitative data about the industry, consumers, places and categories.

- 3-5 years multi-channel product marketing & sales experience with additional skills in:
- Digital Marketing across social media, paid media, and/or email
- Local Grassroots Marketing
- Event Marketing
- DTC Sales
- Industry knowledge and experience working within sports or event ticketing, high-end brand product sales, and/or sports marketing
- Proven track record of developing & executing successful marketing campaigns to drive revenue and/or direct sales
- Creative thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for putting the athlete (customer) first
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience giving and receiving constructive feedback and working cross-functionally with creative, operations, and partnership teams
- Can-do attitude and solutions-oriented mindset with strong self-motivation and prioritization skills
- Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, tools, & analytics, such as Emplifi, Hubspot, Google Analytics, & Tableau
- Experience analyzing marketing metrics and using data to optimize campaigns and drive decision-making
- A passion for endurance sports and the athletes that do them
- Based Remotely within US Midwest – Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Louisville, KY
- Willingness to travel for events 25-30%
