JLL is looking for a Senior Observability Engineer with extensive experience in implementing monitoring solutions through Datadog. In this role you will be key to shape the technical aspect of JLL’s Datadog observability solution. You will work closely with the infrastructure and application leadership to help define and deliver our technical strategy.  We are looking for an individual contributor who has experience building out Datadog’s observability products for Infrastructure, Network and Application monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the efforts to evolve the architecture of the JLL’s Observability solution and the roadmap to implement it. Providing a point of escalation for teams facing complex technical challenges.
  • Work with various stakeholders to understand monitoring requirements and design effective monitoring strategies using Datadog. This includes defining key performance indicators (KPIs), SLAs, SLOs and configuring necessary alerts and thresholds.
  • Ensure seamless integration of diverse systems and applications with the Datadog platform. This involves setting up agents, APIs, and connectors to collect and aggregate data from different sources.
  • Configuration and optimization of Datadog’s AIOps offering to deliver event correlation, anomaly detection and noise reduction.
  • Customize Datadog dashboards and reports to meet specific business needs. Also optimize the platform’s configuration for efficient data collection, analysis, and monitoring.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the Datadog platform itself, identifying and resolving any issues or service disruptions. Also investigate and address any data collection or reporting problems.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on how to effectively use the Datadog platform whilst also offering technical support to users, addressing their queries, and troubleshooting any difficulties they encounter.

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in managing monitoring services in a large-scale environment.
  • Hands on experience in implementing monitoring through Datadog.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Proficient in writing Ansible scripts for automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments and emerging trends in the industry (including Azure and AWS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across multiple locations and time zones.

Estimated total compensation ran for this position is:

172,500.00 – 184,000.00 USD per year
