The Sr. Software Engineer spearheads the development of automation test strategies, maintain automation frameworks, sequence test cases based on priority, and play a pivotal role in crafting comprehensive test plans for automation, ensuring seamless evaluation and planning of regression testing needs. Responsibilities include:
Develop a comprehensive automation test strategy outlining the approach, scope, and objectives of the automation testing effort.
Create and maintain automation frameworks that provide a structured and consistent approach to conducting automated tests.
Prioritize and sequence automated test cases based on business priorities and critical functionalities.
Evaluate and plan automated regression testing needs, considering changes in the application.
Sequence scripted test cases for execution, ensuring optimal coverage of the application’s functionality.
Help identify automation requirements, including gathering requirements from stakeholders and project documentation.
Ensure requirements coverage in the automation test plan, aligning automated test scripts with project specifications.
Specify test data requirements for automated test cases to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Review supporting documentation for accuracy, ensuring alignment with the automated testing strategy.
Confirm that the test environment is properly set up and ready for automated testing activities.
Develop automated test cases based on identified scenarios and requirements.
Script automated test cases using chosen automation testing tools, adhering to scripting best practices.
Modify and enhance automated test scripts for reusability across different test scenarios and iterations.
Log and report any defects identified during automated testing, providing detailed information for the development team.
Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand application architecture, design, and business requirements.
Qualifications
• Knowledge with System Development Life Cycle models (Waterfall, Rapid Application Development, Spiral Model, Agile, etc.) required.
• Experience with UFTOne
• Familiarity with the development and production support processes
• Knowledge of different types of testing, focus areas, and testing implementations
• Effective interpersonal, consultative, organizational skills, negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, ability to follow instructions, work independently
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for full product development life-cycle
• Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently while being flexible to change
• Software quality testing and test automation experience
• Strong experience in using testing tools and frameworks
• Experience in creating, using and updating frameworks
• Experience with using/testing API’s
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps
• Excellent consultative skills
• Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels of management
