The Titan team forms the core stack that powers the Microsoft Cloud and manages datacenter infrastructure for the global Microsoft fleet, including Azure, Xbox, Exchange and more. Titan is a microservices platform that runs the cloud at massive scale. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Titan Inventory team, you’ll be responsible for designing and building foundational services that manage the inventory. You should be comfortable producing highly available systems that operate at massive scale. You should have hands-on experience with the design and implementation of large-scale, distributed systems. You are a great team player.   • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
  • Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • Design and develop distributed software services and solutions that are engineered for scale, availability, high performance, and high reliability.
  • Own and deliver complete features including design, architecture, implementation, testability, debugging, and shipping. 
  • Gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses while collaborating with businesses and leaders to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users. 
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking, good problem-solving skills, out-of-the-box thinking, and a real drive for results. 
  • Drive a Livesite culture within the organization to ensure services are functional, providing a positive user experience.
  • Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C# or Java.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in design and architecture of distributed systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science orrelated technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 – $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 – $250,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
