Software Engineer, Integrations

Coalition

About the role

You’ll be part of the security applications organization focusing on building connections to third-party services for our Coalition Control users and building tools used by our Incident Response team. You’ll operate with short feedback loops, fast delivery times, and prioritize pragmatic technical solutions over theoretical academic ones. You’ll be predominantly writing go code. You may be exposed to python code from the rest of the organization at times. For our persistent stores, we use postgres and for rare and specific cases dynamoDB.

Our team is globally distributed and as a result works highly asynchronously. We do not have synchronous rituals or recurring meetings. Thus, we expect from you a disciplined, mature management of your workload, skilled written communication, and empathy for your team members and their perspectives. We have diverse opinions and expect you to voice yours. We disagree with each other regularly but prefer team success over “being right.” We expect the same from you.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to code: tested, maintainable, extensible, but pragmatic.
  • Maintain and improve existing services
  • Research third-party service providers (how they work, how we can integrate with them.)
  • Interface with the Platform team to alter/amend existing infrastructure.
  • Interface with Product Team to clarify requirements, provide feedback on required effort
  • On-Call rotation participation (this means a regular expectation to respond to incidents outside of regular working hours – it happens rarely and we’d like to keep it that way.)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least three years of work experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience writing code in a modern programming language, preferably in Golang.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey engineering-related topics to team members.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, capable of working effectively in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to analyze and debug code.
  • Curiosity to learn and openness to feedback.
  • Autonomous and disciplined approach to work

Bonus Points

  • DynamoDB
  • Python
  • Terragrunt / Terraform
  • Docker
  • Empathy for and understanding of SMB users
  • Understanding of Security, Compliance, and IT Software (S1, Crowdstrike, Defender, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365)

Perks

  • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible PTO
  • Annual home office stipend and WeWork access
  • Mental & physical health wellness programs like Headspace, Lumino, and more!
  • Competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement
