Sr. Director HR, Americas Commercial and Customer Care

The Sr. Director HR, Americas Commercial and Customer Care will be accountable for end-to-end HR leadership for the Americas commercial organization (regions include America & LATAM & Canada) and serve as the primary strategic business partner to the VP, Americas Commercial GM and VP Americas Customer Care. The Sr. Director HR will join their commercial leadership team(s) where applicable and will be responsible for driving the HR planning and execution aligned to global and regional business and HR priorities (with emphasis on talent management, leadership coaching, organizational design, DE&I, employee engagement and creating a world-class associate experience). Reporting directly to the Sr. Director HR, Americas Commercial and Customer Care will be the Sr. HR Americas Commercial Business Partners; the leader will also have matrix leadership of other Centers of Excellence. As such, the leader will interface effectively with relevant business and HR (commercial) leaders to maximize both global, regional, and local opportunities and create a high-performance working culture to enable the business to achieve its ambitious performance and people objectives.

This position is part of the Commercial HR team and will be located in Sunnyvale, California ( Hybrid) & will consider Remote for internal Danaher Associates. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as lead HR partner for the VP, Americas Commercial GM and VP Americas Customer Care, joining as a member of their senior leadership teams to provide the strategic direction in organizational design, talent management and other key people initiatives; serve as subject matter expert to align people programs globally.
  • Provide leadership to direct reporting HR members and participate as member of the HR Commercial Leadership Team serving as a representative of HR leadership globally, creating opportunities for coaching and collaboration across the HR organization.
  • Serve as an integrated part of the business, working with and influencing business leaders to make data-based decisions to further talent progression in pursuit of overall business strategic goals.
  • Identify the need for HR programs and strategies to support business objectives and collaborate across the commercial HRLT to deliver in the areas of organizational development, performance management, organizational design, DE&I and employee engagement.
  • Lead the development and execution of transformation initiatives, managing change across multiple departments and functions to achieve strategic goals.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience monitoring results of talent initiatives to ensure effectiveness through access and interpretation of employee data including but not limited to employee turnover, hiring, change management, performance, and engagement.
  • Experience leading the development and execution of transformation initiatives, managing change across multiple departments and functions to achieve strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated ability in creating environments of continuous improvement through actively engaging with process owners to explore opportunities to optimize or problem solve utilizing the Danaher Business System (DBS) and championing change management.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience OR Master’s with 8+ years of experience
  • 5+ years people leadership experience

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong data-driven analysis and decision making with the knowledge and ability to interpret and develop key insights from available data to drive strategy.
  • Demonstrating strong executive presence with ability to command respect and gain credibility through exercise of sound business judgment, clear decision-making, and excellent communication.
  • Managing significant change/project initiatives, including change management experience.

Other Requirements/abilities:

  • 35% travel may be required, mainly domestic travel.
  • Able to work flexible schedules to accommodate global work teams.
