We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Carrier Integration Engineering team at eHealth. This role will help design and build the company’s next-generation services in Carrier Integration area. Carrier Integration team develops software services and components that seamlessly send insurance applications to insurance carriers and track their status.

You have proven industry experience in software design and development. You are a solution-centric, results-oriented, and experienced Software Engineer. You want to “build what’s right, not what’s easy.” You will work with other engineers in a collaborative environment to improve the overall quality while achieving timely delivery of projects. You are ambitious, talented, and driven to make the team and project successful.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Deliver features/projects for Carrier Integration area and support them
  • Work with talented team of engineers to deliver top quality on challenging projects to delight customers and business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with leaders in Engineering, Product Management, UX and Carrier Services teams giving input on what is both intuitive and feasible
  • Contribute towards establishing development standards & evaluating technology choices
  • Work in an environment where we move quickly, are always learning, and enjoy a challenge
  • Demonstrate eHealth’s values in your behaviors, practices, and decisions.

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • BS in Computer Science or similar field
  • 8+ years of working experience in rapid product development
  • Proven experience providing solutions in creative and effective ways
  • Full stack development experience
  • Expertise with architecting and developing using modern Java and JavaScript ecosystem
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Experience with SQL and No-SQL database technologies
  • Experience using Spring framework, event streaming using Apache Kafka
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js
  • Experience collaborating with Product managers to help identify dependencies and break down features into individual engineering tasks
  • Experience collaborating with multiple engineering teams to deliver projects on time and with high quality
  • Help developers with code review and technical challenges
  • Identify and communicate project risks to the stake holders and suggest mitigation strategies
  • Fully utilize AI tools in software development

Nice to have

  • Experience with Angular JS
  • Experience with integration using oAuth 2, OIDC, and/or SAML
  • Previous experience working with a large engineering team on a complex web application and backend services
  • Experience with modernizing legacy monolith application

Prefer candidates that reside in Pacific Time zone. There will be extended evening hours due to regular meetings with our Xiamen Team.   Team members are expected to be available throughout each day for video collaboration meetings and chats.
