The successful candidate will be responsible for providing statistical support to multiple discovery, development, and product defense projects in Veterinary Medicine Research and Development. This includes both development of vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and biopharmaceuticals. He/she will be responsible for identifying and implementing innovative approaches for design and analysis of clinical, laboratory, and multi-omics data. The individual should be able to review statistical literature in these areas for practical implementation in animal health R&D programs.  Participation on project teams and serving as a liaison between Statistics and other departmental groups is required.  The successful candidate will assist in the training of scientists and engineers in experimental design and related topics.  Our department is highly collaborative, and colleagues are expected to actively participate in group meetings to ensure that a common approach is taken to handling clinical and laboratory study data.

Education:

  • MS in Biostatistics/Statistics or related field with at least 5 years of direct work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • PhD in Biostatistics/Statistics preferably with 3 years of industry experience

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Knowledge of data handling and statistical analysis programming in PC-SAS
  • Knowledge of experimental design, mixed linear and non-linear model methodologies, survival analysis and categorical data analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication and statistical consulting skills along with the ability to work effectively with both domestic and international colleagues remotely
  • Ability to critically review scientific publications
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and significant attention to detail.  This includes projects where work will be submitted and reviewed by domestic and international regulatory authorities.

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience with clinical and laboratory trials for pharmaceutical and/or vaccine products
  • Knowledge of other programming platforms such as R and Python
  • Experience with Bayesian analysis techniques
  • Experience with GCP and GLP principles

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (Colorado). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $108,000- $156,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (California), (NJ Remote), (NY Remote), or (Washington). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $123,000- $176,000
