This role will primarily support TaxAct as the organization helps everyday Americans file their taxes. We seek to build a team of experts in tax and technology who are customer advocates and have the mindset to reimagine the services our customers receive.

Test Analyst III will be responsible to identify, analyze, fix, and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content.

Work Location: 3200 Olympus Blvd., Suite 110, Coppell, TX 75019 [and various unanticipated locations throughout U.S.; may work from home].

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute test plans and test cases.
  • Test the functionality, compatibility, operability, and interoperability of software applications using proper test procedures, methodologies, and quality standards.
  • Communicate test results, status, and potential risks.
  • Execute and enhance automated test regression profiles including libraries and batteries.
  • Design, code, and maintain automated scripts and UI and API testcases using Selenium frameworks and Selenium web drivers, C#, and Postman.
  • Respond to inquiries from end-users and provide technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs.
  • Read and comprehend tax forms and instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-function teams.
  • Conduct integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing to ensure entire applications are fully tested.
  • Provide automated exploratory testing to find additional or unexpected behavior and to refine and define additional test cases for the feature.
  • Develop automation frameworks using Selenium, SpecFlow, NuGet, and NUnit. Use Restful APIs and Postman in QAAutomation tools discovery.
  • Perform database testing on MS SQL server. Interact with developers and business analysts to perform various types of testing throughout the Software Testing LifeCycle (STLC).
  • Execute SQL queries to verify proper insertions, deletions, and updates to MS SQL server supporting tables.
  • Utilize Visual Studio, GitHub, Jenkins, and Splunk. Execute test cases manually, thus providing feedback to the product and development team.
  • Identify, analyze, and document all programming errors (software bugs) and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specifications.
  • Engage in creating Automation test scripts using QTP/UFT. Responsible for running the QTP (Quick Test Professional) to provide functional and regression test automation for software applications and environments.
  • Analyze the test results and document the same using Quality Center. Generate reports in Quality Center for defect tracking to be used by project management team for project tracking.
  • Create and execute SQL Queries for backend testing and validate data in the databases.
  • Perform database testing using SQL Server to check the data validation of reports generated from the front end.
  • Analyze the requirements document to formulate the test cases and conduct manual testing for the entire application.
  • Extensive utilize HP Unified Functional Testing (HP UFT) for Functional and Regression Testing.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology Management and six (6) months of experience in the job offered or six (6) months of experience in a related occupation executing test cases manually, thus providing feedback to the product and development team; identifying, analyzing, and documenting all programming errors (software bugs) and operational characteristics that are inconsistent with stated requirements and design specifications; engaging in creating Automation test scripts using QTP/UFT; responsible for running the QTP (Quick Test Professional) to provide functional and regression test automation for software applications and environments; analyzing the test results and documenting the same using Quality Center; generating reports in Quality Center for defect tracking to be used by project management team for project tracking; creating and executing SQL Queries for backend testing and validating data in the databases; performing database testing using SQL Server to check the data validation of reports generated from the front end; analyzing the requirements document to formulate the test cases and conducting manual testing for the entire application; and extensively utilizing HP Unified Functional Testing (HP UFT) for Functional and Regression Testing
