The Opportunity
As the Project Manager (PM), you will be responsible for delivering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities throughout the contract or work package life cycle, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule. The PM oversees planning and execution, maintaining safety, quality, time, and cost standards.

What you’ll be doing
As the Project Manager, you will be a driven individual to support project delivery by ensuring effective resource management and collaboration across teams. In this role, you will assist in securing the required resources, maintaining Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) standards, and addressing any team challenges.Working alongside the Senior Project Manager, you will help develop and implement strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP) to ensure contracts and work packages are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to technical and business standards.
Your responsibilities will include tracking progress against milestones, managing budgets, and keeping stakeholders informed through regular updates. You will also anticipate and resolve issues, identify risks, and escalate concerns when necessary. Ensuring schedules align with overall project timelines and collaborating with other programmes to share best practices are key aspects of the role. Who you are
As a Project Manager you will have a strong technical background in engineering, construction, or a related field, supported by a degree or equivalent qualification. A demonstrated understanding of leadership principles and their application in complex projects is essential, along with working knowledge of CDM Regulations. Have excellent numeracy, analytical, and critical reasoning skills, as well as proficiency in tools such as estimating, scheduling, programming, risk management, and Earned Value Management. Strong presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
A solid understanding of nuclear quality requirements and how they are assured and controlled is important for this role. While a professional qualification in Project Management, such as APM PPQ or a similar certification, is desirable. Have proven project management experience in areas such as engineering design, contract strategies, and field execution for project delivery. Experience with multi-discipline EPCM projects, construction management, and procurement of complex contracts is essential, along with expertise in managing costs, risks, schedules, changes, and commercial claims.
Demonstrate an ability and track record of engaging with multi-level stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and advisors. Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements is also required to excel in this role.
