About the role:
The Associate Benefits Consultant serves as a member of the Brown & Brown Employee Benefits Ancillary Proposal team for benefit proposals including Life, Disability, Dental, Vision and Voluntary products. This includes assisting in proposal development, deployment, and response quote process in conjunction with Brown & Brown Employee Benefit Profit Centers on behalf of their clients.
Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- In partnership with Brown & Brown EB Profit Centers, support and assist with the full range of activities required to produce proposals and obtain carrier/vendor quotes leveraging RFP Software tool for Life, Disability, Leave, Vision, and Voluntary benefits.
- Develop and enhance internal and external training modules to ensure users have a strong knowledge of proposal process along with support expectations team will provide to EB Profit Center account managers.
- Act as a resource for educating, advising, and aiding internal Brown & Brown EB Profit Center account managers on proposal process, RFP Software tool, market quotes and proposal summaries.
- Support plan design development with a specific focus on creating plans with the best possible value to the employee by eliminating benefit duplication across all available benefits and identifying synergies between client and carriers
- Maintain productive relationships with Life, Disability, Vision, Dental and Voluntary benefits carrier representatives while acting as the liaison between carrier reps and internal resources as needed.
- Support internal processes, roadmaps and strategies for new and existing relationships that enhance mid-market proposal efficiencies, accuracy, and collaboration with EB Profit Centers.
- Support team’s leaders in cultivating, promotion, and value of proposal team services within EB Profit Centers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills needed:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role at comparable level in group insurance with carrier or on consulting side
- Expertise in voluntary benefits products, dental, vision and other ancillary benefits
- Knowledge of ancillary benefit enrollment strategies
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with significant strength and experience in managing complex, concurrent project management duties
- Demonstrates good listening ability with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills needed to build relationships and strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management, analytical and consulting skills
- Viewed as an expert in the field with the ability to establish credibility at all levels of the organization and with clients through confident communications, presentations and actions based on integrity.
- Strong work ethic, self-directed with positive drive and approach, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a dynamic team in a virtual working environment
- Strong attention to detail with highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and manage strict deadline and turnaround time requirements
- Proven track record of identifying project obstacles, risks and issues, and supporting alternative solutions
- Strong competency with Microsoft applications; web based and cloud applications and other tools
- Some travel required – up to approximately 30%
- Must hold Life, Accident & Health Producer’s License in residence state

Pay Range
60,000 – 70,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
