Position Summary

As a Business Development (BD) and Partner Marketing Analyst, you will oversee reporting and analytics related to TaxAct’s affiliate, partner marketing and data partners who market and resell TaxAct’s tax preparation software or enable data imports for its platform. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with data, creating comprehensive reports, meeting deadlines, and deriving actionable insights from partner performance data. This position is pivotal and offers growth potential within the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Partner Performance Reporting:

  • Develop and optimize scalable reporting processes for multiple partners.
  • Track and analyze partner performance across various affiliate and data partner channels.
  • Collaborate with partners to align on reporting expectations.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed performance reports to partners monthly.

Internal Reporting & Analysis:

  • Conduct internal reporting tasks, including YoY performance and ROAS analysis (with a specific focus on media investments).
  • Prepare and send monthly performance reports to BD partners and data import reviews.
  • Work with Business Intelligence (BI) to update partner link mapping as needed and troubleshoot link management.
  • Analyze monthly P&L performance versus plan and bring a curiosity to understand variances.
  • Assist in preparation of annual BD P&L and budget.
  • Report to internal senior leaders, including Accounting, monthly P&L performance with variance explanations on a partner-by-partner basis.
  • Provide monthly accruals to Accounting.

Partner Invoicing & Payments:

  • Coordinate with partners on payment terms, methods, and processes.
  • Facilitate the setup of new partners’ payment methods with internal teams.
  • Collect partner financial documentation for payment setup with the Accounting team.
  • Track and ensure timely commission payments throughout the year.

Data & Reporting Management:

  • Manage Tableau dashboards and support BI in planned incrementality analyses.
  • Work with BI to drive Tableau dashboard enhancements as needed.
  • Routinely review data to ensure integrity and resolve issues with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update documentation for reporting processes and best practices.

Ad Hoc Duties & Marketing Support:

  • Manage the marketing intake process and assist with various operational tasks.
  • Ensure creative placements across partner sites are accurate.
  • Work with TaxAct Accounts Payable to send out monthly partner commissions and process invoices with proper tracking.

Collaboration & Strategy:

  • Work closely with business development, marketing, finance, creative, and legal teams to align strategies and outcomes.
  • Analyze performance data to help identify and optimize promotional strategies.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the SVP of Strategy.

Personal Development:

  • Pursue research in topics of interest and relevant functions.
  • Participate in TaxAct’s mentorship program for career guidance.
  • Engage in training and learning modules to enhance skill sets and support career advancement.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to understand and interpret data to drive insights.
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools is a plus.
