Finance Manager, Accounting – JLL Canada
At JLL Canada, we’re seeking an exceptional Finance Manager to join our innovative team in the dynamic commercial real estate industry. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, technology-driven, and capable of driving financial excellence while fostering strong client relationships and team performance. Fluency in French is highly valued and will be considered an advantage for this position. However, candidates who are not bilingual are still strongly encouraged to apply, as French language skills are not a mandatory requirement for this role.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Financial System Management:
- Maintain high-integrity financial systems to support sound management decisions
- Ensure standardized, reliable reporting for strategic insights
Comprehensive Accounting Oversight:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable, client general ledger, funding requests, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead month-end close processes and meticulous documentation
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Contribute to budget and forecast creation
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, reporting, and benchmarking
- Communicate processes effectively to clients and management
Policy and Procedure Development:
- Recommend and implement standardized accounting practices and internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, JLL Internal Audit, and Client Accounting Services SSAE16 standards
Financial Reporting and KPI Management:
- Prepare and interpret portfolio financials and Key Performance Indicators
- Distribute timely, accurate operations reports to clients and management
Audit Coordination and Compliance:
- Oversee periodic/annual audits of financial activities and control environment
- Maintain working knowledge of Master Services Agreement (MSA) and relevant amendments
Process Improvement and Team Leadership:
- Identify and implement process re-engineering initiatives
- Contribute to training and development of the accounting team
- Manage workload distribution effectively
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Financial Expertise:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management
- Proven track record in financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning
Leadership and Client Relations:
- Experience in team leadership and workload management
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build client relationships
- Excellent presentation skills, capable of explaining complex financials to clients
Technological Proficiency:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with financial management software; JD Edwards knowledge an asset
- Aptitude for learning new technologies quickly
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Experience in developing and interpreting KPIs and financial metrics
- Proven problem-solving skills in financial management
Knowledge and Compliance:
- Familiarity with GAAP and relevant accounting standards
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Experience in implementing best practices and standardizing procedures
- Ability to identify and lead process improvement initiatives
Adaptability and Ownership:
- Proactive approach to taking ownership of responsibilities
