Remote OR Hybrid, reporting where work can/needs to be performed / collaboration should happen. If the person lives w/n 50 miles of such a location, they are expected to come in three times a week. If they do not live withing 50 miles of any of those locations, they don’t need to report in.

  • This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Mountain View California or Warren MI you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum

The Strategic Technology Partnerships team is focused on empowering GM to achieve more by helping deliver best-in-class software and digital customer experiences.  We advance that goal by leveraging strategic technology partnerships to accelerate and differentiate GM’s Software and Services product roadmaps – and by unlocking large scale joint value creation with strategic partners in service of shared customers and initiatives.  Our orientation is towards sustainable, long-term value creation.  Through strategic partnerships, we propel General Motors into groundbreaking areas by identifying new opportunities, advising senior-level decision-makers, driving best-in-class deal making, and providing thought leadership to our stakeholders across the company.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our Strategic Technology Partnerships team as the Head of ADAS Product Partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for forging and nurturing strategic partnerships that drive innovation and growth within the Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) space.  This role will start as an individual contributor with the potential to evolve into a team leadership position as business needs expand. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential ADAS partnership opportunities as part of GM’s broader build | buy | partner approach to the space – including developing the business case (strategic rationales and economics), creatively structuring deal terms, developing a negotiation strategy, and leading negotiations.  

  • Build and maintain internal consensus with all stakeholders at all stages of the deal process. Drive deals to closure while maintaining a willingness to walk away from deals which did not meet business objectives or introduced an unacceptable risk.  

  • Ensure successful execution of partnerships to ensure they deliver on expectations by leading deal governances processes. Maintain ongoing relationships with partners to help manage execution. 

  • Develop and maintain a network of strong relationships with key stakeholders in relevant automotive and technology sectors. 

  • Prepare strategic content for high profile forums, including internal leadership meetings as well as partner-facing executive level conversations 

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor strategies to inform partnership approaches.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications: 

  • MBA preferred.  Legal credentials a plus, but not

  • Bachelors Degree Required, Technical Specialty is a plus

  • 8+ years relevant work experience (e.g., business development, product management, corporate strategy, investment banking, consulting, finance, venture capital)  

  • Proven deal-making track record in partnership development, preferably in the ADAS, AV, or in the technology and/or automotive industries   

  • Experience working with artificial intelligence technologies, computer vision, compute, or other relevant technologies 

  • Experience working on partnership efforts pertaining to a multi-year/long-term roadmap for new or white-space technology offerings  

  • Experience working with regulations, preferably across different global environments, a plus 

  • Global partnerships experience, especially in/with companies in Europe and China, a plus 

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. 

  • Experience working with partners and ecosystem relationships in a highly complex, matrixed environment. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities. 

  • Ability to work independently and navigate complex business situations. 

  • Flexibility and agility, the ability to change priorities quickly, and manage partner expectations accordingly 

  • Strong safety-first mindset

  • 30% travel GM sites, partner meetings, events, and industry events

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. 

  • The salary range for this role is ( 184,300 – 282,400 ). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
