The Opportunity:

The Manager, Database Infrastructure will be responsible for managing a remote team of Database Administrators, primarily managing Oracle and MS SQL on premise and in Cloud, as well as other database platforms.

Day in the Life:

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Oracle and SQL Server database administrators (DBAs) by setting clear goals, fostering a collaborative environment, and providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor primarily Oracle and SQL Server database performance and conduct regular system reviews to optimize performance and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Database Administration: Oversee day-to-day database administration tasks such as backups, restores, upgrades, and patches.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Lead the team in diagnosing and resolving database-related issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Capacity Planning: Forecast future database growth and plan for scalability by recommending infrastructure improvements and enhancements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, including developers, network engineers, and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration of database systems with other enterprise applications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate reports and provide insights to stakeholders as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Will be responsible for managing a remote team of Oracle and SQL Server DBA’s, including offshore DBA’s.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Expert in Oracle or MS SQL database management systems.
  • Knowledge of database management systems, such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, including data modeling and schema design.
  • Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and replication solutions.

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
