The Access team is responsible for managing access to our properties and managing IoT devices. The Access team’s roadmap is focused on integrating into our infrastructure, improving the IoT device management product, and providing the best possible user experience.

The opportunity:

• Help make Sonder.com and our mobile app the best and easiest way to book accommodations wherever Sonder operates. 
• Provide event-based and service-based connections between internal systems and our site, including for real-time pricing and availability. 
• Proactively monitor application data and logs to prevent discrepancies and identify areas for improvement that reduce the need for human intervention.
• Collaborate closely with other teams including product, design and business stakeholders.
• Grow our team by recruiting, interviewing and mentoring new engineers.
• Continuously invest in observability, reliability, productivity and stability.
• Write and maintain clear and appropriate documentation and testing for the systems you build so that others can easily contribute, collaborate, and support.

What we are looking for:

• At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing consumer-facing enterprise software. 
• You have demonstrated Front-End coding skills and experience building and architecting high-availability applications at scale using Javascript.
• A strong understanding of the Javascript ecosystem, including at relatively low levels, and professional experience with React
• Experience as a language agnostic Full-Stack engineer is a plus. 
• An even bigger plus if you have experience with parts of our current stack – NextJS, Typescript, GraphQL, Ruby and Rails, ReactNative, Python, and GoLang (in that order).
• A successful experience of collaboration between technical and non-technical teams. 
• Team player with strong communication skills who works hard to make people around them more successful.
• Comfortable collaborating and digging deeper with stakeholders to understand needs. 
• Willingness to make cultural choices that have a positive impact on all of engineering. 
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
