Senior Product Manager, Apex

As part of the Developer Experience product team at Salesforce, the Apex product team enables developers and ISVs to easily build business logic to power Salesforce applications. Are you interested in building the vision for the future of the Apex programming language and compute runtime to enable developers to build, debug, test, deploy, and observe Apex applications?! This is a highly technical role driving the company’s strategy in evolving the Apex compiler, runtime, standard library, and interactions with other Salesforce Platform technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and articulate customer needs, set product direction, and drive the team to deliver a shared vision.
  • Engage customers, partners, and internal teams to determine business requirements and technical considerations for future Apex features.
  • Craft and lead the roadmap. Make tough tactical prioritization decisions while helping the company think long ­term. Build trust with team members and your engineering counterparts by maintaining an understandable, accurate roadmap.
  • Partner with internal teams like Salesforce Lightning, Flow, Salesforce APIs, Agentforce for Developers, Packaging, and Data Cloud to ensure a shared vision for Apex.
  • Use your influencing and interpersonal skills to share and align your strategy across the greater PM team and overall product strategy.
  • Work with product and developer marketing teams to create product collateral, presentations, demos, and sales tools to support the launch of new products and new product features.
  • Serve as a subject matter authority for Apex and developer tools across the organization and externally.
  • Work with your peer engineering, UX, and documentation leaders to achieve high performance teams that balance innovation, supportability and reliability.
  • Work with partners, both internal and external, who build products that are complementary to our solution to look for opportunities to partner, engage, and integrate our products into a more robust overall solution.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Apex to build Salesforce applications
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities and limits
  • 1-3 years’ experience in product management (or equivalent) working with technical products
  • Experience with Salesforce DX including Salesforce CLI and Salesforce extensions for VS Code
  • Ability to operate in an environment that can have ambiguity and change
  • Shown ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams to complete a plan
  • Motivated by solving complex problems and bringing order & structure to ambiguity
  • Ability to influence and coordinate cross-organization teams to complete important company priorities
  • Ability to communicate ranging from tactical technical detail to high level strategy
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership, participating in new product launches, and handling critical customer issues
  • Strong presentation abilities, including some public speaking at events
  • A related technical degree required

Preferred

  • Experience shipping developer or DevOps products or services
  • Strong user experience/design sense
  • Experience working with engineering teams using agile/scrum methodologies
  • Computer Science degree, or similar
