The Opportunity
The Acrobat Growth Engineering team is looking for a senior-level software development engineer to join our small but very impactful team. Adobe Acrobat and Document Cloud is used by over 1 billion people world-wide and every month our work is seen and used by millions of people. With your help we will unlock new testing capabilities, enable higher testing velocity, and make the elusive 1:1 personalization a reality.
What you’ll do
- Build and test new layouts, components and features in our React-based web applications
- Work with Product Engineering teams to contribute code in their sprints
- Identify and design new programmable / configurable surfaces in our products for Growth teams to easily test variations without knowing how to code
- Integrate new programmable surfaces with our headless content management system
- Build internal applications, dashboards and utilities to help other Growth engineers and larger Growth team
- Configure, and administer a Kubernetes / Docker based webservers for production SPAs to run at scale as well as for internal tools
- Configure A/B and tests for across Desktop and Web applications
- Write scripts that can manipulate the DOM for web-based A/B tests using Adobe Target
- Review and provide feedback on features, technology, designs, and test strategies.
- Open to learning and experimenting with upcoming technologies in a fast-paced environment.
- Tackle exciting design and engineering problems to deliver best-in-class services
- Advocate development and operation best practices among the development team.
- Be involved in all the product development and delivery stages, as part of an agile engineering team
- Participate in pair programming and peer reviews. You’ll collaborate with other engineers on problems of all shapes and sizes, from code to new ideas and methodologies.
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, agile environment, planning features and prioritizing changes based on team goals, product usage, and user feedback.
What you need to succeed
- Degree not required but must have 5+ years experience building and deploying web applications or interactive websites
- Strong skills in Javascript, HTML & CSS, experience with ES6 and Web component, React, Vue or equivalent UI frameworks.
- Familiarity with modern web dev tools/patterns, e.g. NPM, web pack, etc; loading optimization, Git, cloud deployment strategies
- Keen eye for visual and web design and a passion for using CSS and modern techniques to create visually rich, responsive and interactive experiences
- Experience with cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with RESTful Web Services
- Comfortable both building prototypes from scratch and writing maintainable code inside large existing codebases
- Experience with shipped software in a commercial environment (start-ups a plus) and can take care of last-minute bug fixes and schedule changes
- Passionate about computer science, developing software & internet applications
- Being adaptable to a dynamic environment, loves to experiment, becoming proficient in new technologies
Bonus
- DevOps experience: CI/CD deployments, monitoring, and alerting
- Experience with cloud services platforms such as AWS
- Have used data-driven approaches to measure and analyze user interactions to gain useful insights.
- Solid understanding on using one or more database SQL, noSQL, and graph databases
- Experience with full-stack web development technologies.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $124,000 — $234,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
