This role will primarily support TaxAct as the organization helps everyday Americans file their taxes. We seek to build a team of experts in tax and technology who are customer advocates and have the mindset to reimagine the services our customers receive.
Software Engineer II is accountable to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test software applications to ensure business goals and user requirements are met.
Work Location: 3200 Olympus Blvd., Suite 110, Coppell, TX 75019 [and various unanticipated locations throughout U.S.; may work from home].
Responsibilities:
- Lead full time developers and contractors, analyze user needs, and develop software solutions.
- Design and customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
- Design and develop a robust payment processing system to support multiple payment platforms.
- Contribute to a seamless and secure transaction experience for users.
- Develop an efficient order processing system for online e-commerce products, streamline the fulfillment process, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
- Implement Microservices using AWS serverless event-driven architecture to produce highly scalable and cost-effective solutions that improve system performance and resource utilization.
- Develop new software packages, implement upgrades and fixes to existing operating software packages, ensure optimal functionality, and address emerging user needs.
- Develop comprehensive and detailed architecture documents for new system designs.
- Capture technical specifications, components, interfaces, and deployment strategies.
- Implement REST APIs. Use HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, C#, Python, TypeScript, and Git.
- Apply knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and libraries including jQuery, Ajax, Nuxt.Js, Vue.Js, Node.js, and npm.
- Utilize Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and Visual Basic. A
- pply knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
- Use .NET Core, VB.NET, JetBrains Rider, and ASP.NET MVC.
- Optimize and enhance websites using Contentful CMS, Optimizely, Braintree, and Chase Paymentech.
- Use Datadog, Logic Monitor, Splunk, and SignalFx to maintain and oversee platforms. Work within server-less architecture using AWS Cloud and Azure DevOps.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or experience in a related occupation implementing REST APIs; using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, C#, Python, TypeScript, and Git; applying knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and libraries including jQuery, Ajax, Nuxt.Js, Vue.Js, Node.js, and npm; utilizing Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and Visual Basic; applying knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL; using .NET Core, VB.NET, JetBrains Rider, and ASP.NET MVC; using Datadog, Logic Monitor, Splunk, and SignalFx to maintain and oversee platforms; and working within server- less architecture using AWS Cloud and Azure DevOps.
