The role

Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment and a variety of responsibilities? Would you like to bring your resilience and target- focused approach into Frontiers’ mission of making science open? As a Content Specialist US you will be providing Research Topic (article collection) publishing opportunities for dynamically changing research communities. You will be driving the Research Topic from its development to online publication, collaborating with other Specialists and Journal Manager.

This role will report to the Content Manager US.

Deadline for applications is October, 18th.

Role responsibilities:

  • You will take charge of the entire life cycle of the Research Topic, from commissioning the Editor team, developing the scope, to online publication
  • You will identify researchers as Topic Editors and collaborate with them to spot possible Research Topic contributors
  • You will be the primary point of contact for leading researchers around the United States, successfully building relationships to acquire quality content for the journals you will be assigned
  • You will work collaboratively with other team members- in the US and globally –  to ensure an amazing experience for editors and authors
  • You will provide input on team-level objectives and key results
  • You will prioritize everyday tasks effectively, aligning and collaborating with specialists in other expertise lanes to achieve overall team targets.

About you

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling you to build relationships with high-profile scholars and identify possible Research Topic Editors and contributors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the sciences (Brain Sciences preferred but not required), with a keen interest in research dissemination
  • Demonstrated experience in a commercial, customer-facing role
  • Previous experience in a publisher/ in an academic environment with demonstrated project management skills is a strong asset
  • Confidence in an outward-facing role with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a confident video call manner
  • Target-driven mindset, consistently meeting tight deadlines, and prioritizing workload under pressure
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively as a team member
  • Strong administration skills and fluent proficiency with MS Office applications; knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM systems is beneficial
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make thoughtful decisions
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency
